Home for Life recently had their annual Fall Fancy Feast fundraising event! The event was a sold out success, and we thank everyone who attended or contributed to the event!
The event included music from the Kenwood Symphony, a silent auction, a beautiful brunch buffet, complimentary champagne, a Bloody Mary Bar courtesy of the 45th Parallel Distillery and even an ice cream sundae bar from Grande Ole Creamery. Guests of the event were also able to meet some of Home for Life's animals during the event's world famous Dog Parade!
The whole event was photographed by Katie Theiring of KAGE Photography. We have a sneak preview of her event photos below, as well as a complete gallery here!
The guest speaker this year was Michael Hingson and his guide dog Africa. Michael spoke about his experience on 9/11/2001, when he and his guide dog, Roselle, were working together on the 78th floor of the first tower to be struck during the terrorist attacks. Roselle remained calm and performed her job admirably. Michael followed her calm example, and together they made it out of the building safely. Their courage and teamwork on that day has inspired thousands, and is the inspiration behind Michael's best-selling book, Thunder Dog.
Katie took the photo of Michael that is currently first on our homepage slideshow. The photo shows Michael and his guide dog Africa, as well as Momo. Momo is Home for Life's blind cat from Japan, who came to the event representing all the other cats at Home for Life who couldn't be at the brunch.
Home for Life thanks all its supporters, and hopes to see you again next year. If you were unable to make it to the event, please check out the full photo gallery!
