About Feline Leukemia

The Porche and Mercedes Steffens Oasis for Feline Leukemia Cats offers a comfortable and loving haven for our population of feline leukemia cats and kittens who come to us from all over the country.

At most shelters, cats who are positive for the leukemia virus are generally euthanized, even if they are in good health and showing no symptoms. Yet a cat with leukemia can live for several years, in good health, despite being positive. Care must only be taken that they are segregated from cats who are not positive so the virus does not spread.

Home for Life's feline leukemia facility is designed with the same features as our other cat facilities:

This building has its own small kitchen and laundry and also houses five of our dogs for a little ambience as well as enhanced security!
