Cold Noses, Warm Hearts

In mid January, 2016, Farah Ravon, the United States representative for Vafa Animal Shelter visited the dogs and cats at the sanctuary.

Vafa Animal Shelter has partnered with Home for Life to provide care to animals across the world. Home for Life has accepted several dogs and two cats from Vafa's shelter. Farah wanted to check up on the progress of the animals previously in the care of Vafa.

Her friend and Home for Life supporter Charlotte joined her- and the poor women had to have picked the coldest weekend of the winter to see us.  Their friend Mary, who used to do pitbull rescue in California but who is now living in Wisconsin, joined them for their visit on Sunday. Even though she is practically a neighbor, she had never been to Home for Life before. They all bundled up with boots, hats and gloves- just like us- and were great sports. Attitude is everything!  They had a great two days with us at Home for Life-mostly staying inside, and made the most of their visit. They promised to come back soon to see us when the weather is more hospitable. Spring is just about 8 weeks away so it won't be long!

Farah is also a talented photographer and has put together an album from her weekend with us, with many pictures of the Vafa animals  but also many of our other dogs and cats.

Farah had this to say about her visit to Home for Life:

"As a representative of Vafa Animal Shelter, I am grateful to Lisa and her amazing team at Home For Life Animal Sanctuary for all that they're doing for so many cats and dogs (and birds and more), who without them, would have had no second chance... I had the pleasure of going back to Home for Life once again and this time during the winter! Although it was freezing cold outside, the townhouses were toasty and clean .. and the lucky residents happier than ever!"

Below are some of our favorites from her visit.
